Overview
Battle Sheep is a game of strategic flock placement, played on an ever-shifting pasture of hexagonal tiles. At the start, each player’s entire herd is piled on a single space. The goal is to spread your sheep across the most pastures. On your turn, you break off a portion of your sheep stack and send them stampeding in a straight line until they hit an obstacle – another herd, a border, or some other obstruction. You always have to leave at least one sheep behind, gradually leaving your mark across the field.
The core of Battle Sheep is about planning your herd movements carefully. As the board fills up, space becomes a premium, and blocking opponents while expanding your own territory becomes crucial. There’s a surprising amount of tactical depth hidden beneath its simple rules. It’s a lighthearted game, punctuated by moments of unexpected hilarity as your carefully laid plans are thwarted by another player's timely intervention. The feeling is a mix of careful consideration and playful aggression, as you try to outmaneuver your rivals and claim the best grazing spots for your flock.
