Overview

In Catan, players become settlers arriving on a newly discovered island. Your goal is to develop your settlements faster than your opponents, earning victory points by building roads, settlements, and cities. The island's modular board is composed of hexagonal tiles representing different resource types, and each turn, dice rolls determine which tiles produce resources.

A core element of the game revolves around trading resources with other players. This dynamic negotiation allows you to acquire the materials you need to construct buildings, while strategically controlling key locations on the board to maximize resource production and deny valuable positions to your opponents. The first player to reach a predetermined number of victory points wins the game.
