Description

Codenames is a word association game where two teams compete to identify their secret agents hidden among a grid of seemingly innocuous words. Each team has a spymaster who knows the identities of all the agents. The spymasters give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board, trying to help their teammates guess correctly without accidentally leading them to the opposing team's agents or, worse, the assassin.

The game involves careful planning and risk assessment, as teammates must decipher the spymaster's clues and decide which words to guess. Incorrect guesses can benefit the opposing team, and guessing the assassin results in an immediate loss. The push-your-luck element comes into play as teams try to string together as many correct guesses as possible from a single clue, balancing reward against the risk of a costly mistake. The core gameplay hinges on deduction and working effectively with your teammates to ensure that you can find your spies.
