Overview

Coup plunges you into a world of political intrigue where deception is your greatest weapon. Each player starts with two face-down influence cards representing their standing in the government. On your turn, you can take an action, claiming to possess a specific character's ability, whether you actually do or not. This might be assassinating a rival, collecting taxes, or exchanging influence cards. The heart of the game lies in calling other players' bluffs; if you suspect someone is lying about their influence, you can challenge them. The cost of being caught bluffing is dire – the revealed card is lost forever.

The thrill of Coup comes from the constant tension of deciding when to trust, when to bluff, and when to challenge. Figuring out who's telling the truth becomes a game of careful observation, shrewd deduction, and occasional risky guesses. As players are eliminated, the stakes rise, and the final few survivors engage in a tense battle of wits, trying to outmaneuver each other until only one influencer remains.
