Cryo places you as the leader of a faction vying for survival on a frozen alien planet following a catastrophic crash landing. With your ship in ruins, you must strategically deploy drones to the surface to scavenge vital resources and rescue your scattered crew members. These resources are crucial for upgrading your engineering platform, unlocking new actions and refining your strategy.

The core gameplay loop revolves around worker placement, hand management and strategically expending resources to move rescued crew underground in order to gain area majorities in the caverns below. Players utilize multi-use cards to maximize their actions and gain an edge over their opponents in this desperate race to secure a future on this harsh world.
