The game unfolds as a race against time, using deduction and collaboration to narrow down the list of suspects. You move your detective pawns around the game board, visiting locations to uncover clues. These clues reveal key characteristics about the culprit, allowing you to eliminate potential foxes from the lineup.

The core gameplay loop involves strategically choosing where to search for clues and carefully interpreting the results. Spinning a custom die determines your movement options, sometimes allowing you to reveal more clues or move closer to catching the fox. The tension builds as the fox token progresses along its path, representing the limited time you have to solve the mystery.
