Overview

In Power Grid, players compete to supply the most cities with electricity. The game centers around two key phases: acquiring power plants through auctions and then purchasing resources to power those plants. Bidding strategically on power plants with different fuel requirements and output capacity is crucial, as is managing your finances to ensure you can afford both the plants and the necessary resources.

The route-building aspect comes into play as players expand their networks across the game board, connecting cities to their power grids. Successfully navigating the resource market, strategically expanding your network, and outmaneuvering your opponents are all key to becoming the dominant power provider. The game balances economic engine building with spatial planning, offering a challenging and rewarding experience.
