Description
Railways of the World puts you in the shoes of a burgeoning railroad magnate in the age of steam. Each turn, you'll carefully allocate your limited action points to expand your rail network, acquire better locomotives, and fulfill lucrative delivery contracts. The heart of the game lies in strategically placing track tiles to connect resource-rich cities, then using card drafting to secure the right commodities to transport. Bidding against your rivals for essential resources and crucial railroad expansions adds another layer of strategic depth, forcing tough decisions about how to best invest your capital.
As you connect distant cities and complete delivery contracts, your personal wealth grows, allowing you to acquire more powerful locomotives and further extend your reach. The map slowly transforms from a patchwork of isolated towns to a sprawling network of interconnected railways, driven by the ambition and shrewd planning of each player. Building the most efficient and profitable railway system is the key to victory, but be wary of your opponents' moves as they vie for the same opportunities, possibly stealing a crucial contract or blocking your path to expansion. The game offers a satisfying blend of planning, resource management, and calculated risk, making each playthrough a unique and engaging experience.
