Overview

In Saboteur: The Lost Mines, players are divided into two teams: loyal dwarves and saboteurs. The loyal dwarves are trying to build a path to the treasure, while the saboteurs are secretly trying to prevent them from succeeding. Each player is dealt a role card at the beginning of the game, keeping their allegiance hidden.

Players take turns playing path cards to extend the mine, or action cards to help or hinder other players. Some action cards can break tools, block paths, or even reveal other players' roles. The game ends when the treasure is reached (or can't be reached), and points are awarded based on which team was successful. Because roles are secret, players must carefully deduce who is on their team and who is trying to sabotage them.
